About the simulated X-ray and CT, and the list of studies
Tap a bone on the radiograph or the CT to see its name and open its Atlas page. Every bone in the image is the same one in the 3D model.
About these images: the radiographs are reconstructed by computer from public, anonymized CT scans, and the CT studies are resampled slices of those same scans. Bones are outlined from the dataset's own segmentations (or from MOOSE, in the knee and femur studies). They are for studying normal anatomy, not for diagnostic training.
Simulated radiograph
- Chest PA: Each rib, clavicles, scapulae, thoracic spine and C7.
- Lateral chest: The whole thoracic spine and the scapulae from the side.
- Right shoulder AP: Humerus, scapula, clavicle and the upper ribs.
- Cervical spine AP: C3 to C7, the upper thoracic vertebrae and clavicles; C1–C2 behind the mandible, as in the real exam.
- Lateral cervical spine: C1 to C7 from the side: atlas, axis and the cervicothoracic junction.
- Abdomen AP: T11 to L5, the lower ribs, sacrum, hip bones and proximal femurs.
- Pelvis AP: Hip bones, sacrum, proximal femurs and the lower lumbar spine.
- Lateral lumbar spine: L1 to L5, sacrum and the thoracolumbar junction from the side.
- Right knee AP: Distal femur, patella, tibial plateau and fibular head.
- Right knee lateral: Patella, femoral condyles and tibia from the side.
- Right femur AP: The whole femur, from the head in the acetabulum to the condyles at the knee.
- Right femur lateral: The whole femur from the side: head, greater trochanter, anterior bow and condyles.
- Right leg AP: Tibia and fibula along their full length, from the tibial plateau to the ankle.
CT
- Chest and shoulder CT: From the skull to the iliac crest, in three planes, with bone, soft-tissue and lung windows.
- Abdomen and pelvis CT: From the upper chest to the proximal femur, in three planes, with bone and soft-tissue windows.
- Knee CT: Both knees in three planes: femur, patella, tibia and fibula.
- Leg CT: Both legs from the knees to the feet in three planes: distal femur, patella, tibia and fibula.
