About this image: description, credit and labeled bones
The whole femur, from the head in the acetabulum to the condyles at the knee.
Only the right femur is labeled. The pelvis, the patella (overlapping the lateral condyle), and the proximal tibia appear unlabeled, and the top of the acetabulum is cut off by the image edge. The femur is slightly externally rotated: the lesser trochanter is prominent and the neck looks shortened.
About these images: the radiographs are reconstructed by computer from public, anonymized CT scans, and the CT studies are resampled slices of those same scans. Bones are outlined from the dataset's own segmentations (or from MOOSE, in the knee and femur studies). They are for studying normal anatomy, not for diagnostic training.
